Sprint RAZR V3M ISYNC Instruction Page

 

  1. Install the sim card that came with the phone.  Read the directions if you do not already know how.
  2. Get the latest iSync 2.3 500.86
  3. Update your Phone's firmware to the latest version
    1. Your Phone's firmware must be 24.2_00.37.00R ( usually out of the box it has 24.2_00.35.00R which will not sync )
    2. Click the middle Navigation button
    3. Click on Settings
    4. Click on Phone Info
    5. Click on Update Phone SW
    6. Let it download and instal
  4. Download Or Edit your file (Some people say that downloading they get a version error.)
    1. Get the file

      1. Down load this fine. Down load this MetaClasses
      2. If it does not automatically unzip then unzip the file.
      3. You should see MetaClasses.plist
      4. Open up your applications directory ( by clicking on your dock) Right mouse click on the Isync Icon.
      5. Select show contents.
      6. Navigate down this directories
        /Applications
             /iSync.app
                /Contents
                   /PlugIns
                      /ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice
                       /Contents
                          /PlugIns
                              /PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin
                                /Contents
                                     /Resources
      7. You now should see the file: MetaClasses.plist
      8. Replace this file with the one you downloaded.
      9. Close all applicaitons

      Edit My File

      1. Open up your applications directory ( by clicking on your dock)
      2. Right mouse click on the Isync Icon. 
      3. Select show contents. 
      4. Navigate down this directories
        /Applications
          /iSync.app
            /Contents
              /PlugIns
                /ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice
                   /Contents
                    /PlugIns
                       /PhoneModelsSync.phoneplugin
                         /Contents
                           /Resources
      5. You now should see the file: MetaClasses.plist 
      6. Right mouse click and go to "Open With"
      7. Selet TextEdit
      8. Find this line in that file. <key>com.motorola.razorV3cVerizon</key>
      9. copy paste these red lines directly before that line.

      10. Save the file and close it
  5. Pair Phone To Computer
    1. Go to your Bluetooth Preferences ( either by clicking on the Bluetooth icon on the top bar or threw the System Preferences )
    2. Click on the Devices button.
    3. If you see your phone listed under the bluetooth devices box, delete it.
    4. On your phone click the middle navigation button to bring up the menus.
    5. Select the Bluetooth icon.
    6. Go to device history.
    7. If you see your computer in the list click options and then click delete. Click back to get to the Bluetooth menu. ( Find Me, Handsfree, Device History, Setup)
    8. Click Fine me.
    9. On your computer click the Set Up New Device button on the Bluetooth Preference window.
    10. Click continue
    11. Select Mobile Phone click continue.
    12. Your phone should be appear in the list.  Select the phone and click continue.
    13. At this next screen click continue.
    14. A code should appear on your computer.  And your phone should make a noise and ask if you want to bond with the computer.
    15. Select yes on the phone.
    16. Enter the code which your computer is showing into the phone then hit ok
    17. Your phone should then beep and ask if you want to grant access to the dial up from the computer click "OK"
    18. Your computer should show the phone setup with two options both are checked  "Set up iSync to transfer contacts and events" and "access the internet with your phone's data connection"
    19. Leave both checked and hit continue on the computer.
    20. hit continue on the next screen for your computer.
    21. Your phone should prompt you again for access from the computer.  Click "grant".
    22. On your computer it should say "Congratulations ! your mobile phone is now set up....." click quit
  6. iSync should have come up.  If not, lunch iSync.  
  7. If you do NOT see your phone listed in iSync click on the Devices Menu then click "Add Device" your phone should prompt you again for access click grant.  NOTE: IF YOU DO NOT SEE YOUR PHONE OR IT IS MARKED AS NOT AVAILIBLE THEN JUST CLOSE iSync AND REOPEN IT.  NOW TRY CLICK Devices Menu -> Add Device.  It should now show up as a valid phone. Double click on the phone and it will be added into iSync.
  8. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE Merge option selected rather then the reset contacts first, under the option menu for your phone.
  9. Now you should be able to click sync and have it push out the data.

Notes:
    If you have already paired your phone to your computer you need to delete the pairing on both the phone and the computer.
    I have had some problems Syncing calenders i have downloaded. I would suggest that you uncheck any calenders you have downloaded. mainly these are read only calenders but just to be safe I would delete them.
  

Warnings:
        If for some reason you want to redo the process or you have deleted all your contacts via your cell phone remove the cell phone device from your iSync.  Then add it back.  If you do not do that then all your contacts will be erased on your mac because since you deleted them threw the phone it thinks you do not want them.
